New York City Battle The World All Stars

This upcoming December 29-30, 2012 New York City Team Handball Club is organizing its 4th annual international team handball tournament “The Big Apple”.  Recognized all over the world, it’s the largest gathering in USA of some of the best handball players to have ever played the game in the greatest city in the world. Eight teams assembled from a selection of players from different teams in Germany, and with New York City Team Handball Club as a host assembling few teams. 

The event will again take place at Riverbank State Park in NYC, December 29-30, 2012.  

This years highlight of the event is the game between the World All-Stars vs. NYC Team Handball Club. It is the biggest gathering in US of some of the best players and coaches of the world and it's an opportunity for New York City sports fans to have a glimpse of the second most popular team sport in Europe.  

In this years Big Apple 2013, the New York City Team Handball Club will face the Olympic, World, and European Champions in the New York City battle against the World All Stars. Legends of the game Wislander, Vranjes, Lövgren, Hens, Petersson, Bauer, Xepkin, Dzomba, Roth, Schwenke, Amalou will face New York City’s finest in this highly anticipated matchup.

Our players can’t wait to play against the legends of the sport, and we as a host club are looking forward to give our guests another memorable New Years Eve celebration in New York City ", said Shkumbin Mustafa, president of New York City Team Handball Club. 

The Big Apple international tournament is a joint collaboration between Teamsportreisen, and New York City Team Handball Club. It's a unique opportunity for people from all over the world to play handball, celebrate New Year's Eve and enjoy everything the greatest city in the world has to offer.

All our players are enjoying their time during New Years Eve, but especially the fact that they can play the game they love in the city that never sleeps “, said Karl Gladeck of Teamsportreisen.  

Last years winner of the Big Apple was Team Handballwoche, coached by one of the greatest goalkeepers of all times Henning Fritz. In the finals they beat Mittelhessen in a dramatic penalty shootout.
